By default, pop3 is enabled when exchange is installed and IMC is alive ,
make an A record (i.e. mail.domain.com) pointing to your server.

Ok you have Win2000 server SP2 with Exchange 5.5 SP4 on it with IIS 5 and
it works?
It all depends where your MX record points to...the Dns does have to
propagate to see the new server/address...

Less hardware, therefor cheaper.
Cons: IIS and the related patches reside on the mail server.
Server performance burdened with IIS and Exchange on the same box.
Applying IIS patches to your exchange server can be annoying.

What service pack? in the administrator connections internet mail
service connections tab you have a message filtering button , you can
filter by email address or domain. This feature is not available unless you
have sp3 or 4 installed.

Hi All,
I have an interesting one.
Recently setup a new Win2k Sp1 w/Exchange55 Sp4
The old mail server was a Sendmail server. Users accessed sendmail mail
using Imap. The Oulook client saved a pst file locally. When I brought a
user into Exchange (Outlook client using corporate/workgroup) I
setup Owa
before in different scenerios (on web servers, on the same exchange box, on
proxy server..) but not his one...just want to be sure...
thanks All
