Since you are running DPM on Svr 2008, you must use the Exchange 2007
management tools.
Have you tried using the x64 Exchange 2007 SP1 versions of eseutil.exe and
ese.dll?

You are spot on!
I contacted PSS again and they provided me a link to get the 2007 files. I
was told that
the 2007 files are backward compatible with 2003 so I just needed to make
sure that the files I am using are in sync with the DPM server and greater
than than those being used on the
