In the SMTP virtual server delivery options, or the SMTP connector, are the
masquerade domain and/or the FQDN the same? They can't be.

First thing to check is that the FQDN on the SMTP virtual server resolves
internally OR change the SMTP virtual server from All Unassigned to a specific
IP address.

Under Defaul SMTP Virtual Server Properties, I have the IP address
assigned to the NIC address, rather than unassigned.
Under the Delivery tab, under Advanced, Fully-qualify domain name is
the FQDN of the server. Smart host or masquerade domain are both
blank..

the domain name is valid.

Just noticed that the store was dismounted this morning, and a buncha
errors in the event log - 1159, from the MSExchangeIS. Running a full
backup now, but after mounting the store I didn't see the mailboxes in
ESM - rebooting fixed that...

It just got worse...
ntbackup is blowing up - I was using it to back up to a file on the
new file server.
I note that there are 11,401 files in the mdbdata directory. Good news
is that the disk space is only about 20% full, so that shouldn't be an
issue, but how on Earth do I get around this?
