Believe the key indication is the ms-tnef - on the 5.5 IMS there is a setting on the Internet Mail tab, Advanced options called "Send Microsoft Exchange rich text formatting" - options are User, Always & Never. Believe this can also be set on a per domain basis. Having this set to always or user
