It'd be good to check 1st what is generating these logs. Our setup is
similar to yours, same products etc. The logs sound as if they are temps
generated by BackUp Exec. Why not double-check then call their support?

Tim, I'm not a Exchange expert, but I don't think those are the transaction
log files that are flushed when a backup is done (at least they aren't on my
Exchange Server) Those are the MDBData logs and usually start like
edb.log and they are always 5,120KB. The log files you are looking at,
Disable SMTP protocol logging if you don't need it to eliminate these logs
(which aren't the ones cleaned up by the backup APIs). These logs can be
safely deleted.

1. You need to "disable" circular logging.
2. You can run Perf Opt to move the log files to a bigger drive.
Got anything in your MTA's, any replication that was setup previously before
the server was removed???
