Get the rpm from www.linuxberg.com. Go to
http://nitco.linuxberg.com/x11html/com_messengers.html
get gaim in rpm and install it.
Tik can be installed by tar zxvf tik-0.70.tar.gz This will create a
directory called tik. change to that directory. type ./tik.tcl
there you have it.

go to RPMS on your cd and type 'rpm -Uvh make' and hit tab. this
should install the make onto your system, allthough you'll be needing a
few more packages, if you don't have them : glibc-devel, bin86, etc.

I'm attempting to get my SmartFriendly CD-RW 226 set up under Mandrake
6.1. I'm having problems getting the included isa scsi card working (I
think it's an adaptec aha-1515 or aha-1510).
I've been digging around, I think I've found the options I'm supposed
to feed it to get it working

yep, quite aware of it :)
Since Red Hat =

Hi Stephen,
I use dhs.org myself, and have never had any problems with it (I have more
problems with my ISP). dhs.org provides dynamic IP mapping free of
charge, allows you to setup multiple hosts and provides wildcard matching
as well (eg ftp.yourdomain.dhs.org, www.yourdomain.dhs.org).

Any new ATAPI should work. I use Memorex-2216 without recompiling kernel in

I think CD-Writing HOWTO in even latest Mandrake 6.1 distribution is old

Hello,
To take into account removable devices during install, can you send me
the output of the following :
dmesg
and the contents of these files :
/proc/scsi/scsi
/proc/ide/*/model
/proc/ide/*/media
when a disk is present in the removable device if possible.
Thanks in advance,
I have installed all the necessary files, and I rune the configure script,
but it tells me to specify the host. What do i need to tell it? Thanks;-)
