never had such a problem before,
make sure there is no other dying netscape processes,
use 'ps ax | grep netscape', if any, 'killall -9 netscape',
then netscape should work happily.

Also on a laptop is supposed to create power savings and reduced heat
output from the cpu. Anyone know where the docs are for this? "man
kapm-idled" produces nothing - easy to find documenmtation on the system
via man, info etc is getting worse as Linux grows up!

Hi,
the program that does the security checks each night keeps finding the
devfs files:

I have been looking at this problem too, cause its something that bugs me as well.
After looking at the man page for cal, I saw that start on Sunday is the default

find no alias for cal='cal -m' on my system,

Have you added the user to /etc/samba/smbpasswd
run smbpasswd -a username
and you should edit smbusers and add that user there as well
I forget the samba way to sync passwords though.

Hi everybody!
I installed Mandrake 8.1 on my laptop compap presario 1200, apparently
successfully. However, the kapm-idled is consuming 80% of my CPU!
Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
Thanks,
Sergio

I've had good luck
I finally got the windows machine to see the samba server, however it is
fussing about a password. I did not make one. Also when I use the gnome samba
server and mount "robert", it does not bring anything into my drives.

In Mandrake 8.1 I am finding that the environment is very different than
the Caldera one I'm used to. The latest issue I've found is that while
using a Java Applet Web GUI for MetaIP's DNS/DHCP server, tab doesn't
switch me between fields, and sometimes clicking on an item in a list

Hi,
The default condition for the cal program used to
be with Sunday on the left. Now I noticed that with
8.1, Monday is on the left. Previously, one could get
Monday on the left by using a flag, is there a similar
flag for the new standard? BTW, why did it change?
Please advise; thanks.

Thank you very much. I found out a blank space after

Now it is working.

Hi List,
I've done it many times but now I don't know why it's not working.
I use MDK 8.0.
I've installed fftw and some libs went to /usr/local/lib.
So I add this folder to /etc/ld.so.conf, as follow:
/usr/X11R6/lib/wine
/usr/X11R6/lib
/usr/i486-linux-libc5/lib
/usr/local/lib

Is your machine visible at all on the network? If not, then the issue is
probably something else. You should at least be able to see the machine.
Accessing shares might be a problem, though, unless you have your
permissions set up correctly for the shared directories/drives.

Robert,
Send me your /etc/smb.conf file, along with a summary of your network
setup, and I will see what I can do for you. I'm pretty good with Samba
integration into a Windows network. Feel free to change user names,
passwords, IP addresses, whatever, if you are concerned about security.
But if
