Well, I am making a little bit of progress here... My system is hard-locking
sometimes now, which I think is a bad sign... But anyhow...
Here's where I'm at.
I figured out some modules to install, and now dmesg reports this to me:
paride: version 1.06 installed (parport)
paride: epat registere
I forgot to mention that I know where my stupid card is showing up...
It is in /dev/pd/disc0/
However, I can't mount the partition in there, and I can't run fdisk on it...
So... I feel like I am close.
Help!

Hi,
Yes the uid are fixed in Mandrake, by what I am not sure.. for instance
the ldap user is always 93..
I have finished the RPM of exim.. but did msec ever give me a
problem.. as exim has to run with sticky bit set..also sticky bit had
to be set on /var/spool/mail..Oh well the best trick
When selecting fonts it is important to view the fonts in words as well
as individually.
A case in point is the attached jpg.
The only other comment I have to make is that even at 2/$5.99 I would
still wish to see the 'stock' before making a decision to rent.

Hi guys,
I'm sadly experiencing a lot of freezes in my LM 8.1 box. I just hope I
won't have to give up saying that "Linux does not hang" to my buddies,
but right now it's kind of difficult. I'm having daily hang-ups.
Here goes a quick summary of my system :

I've done quiet a bit of websearching, going through the www.mandrake*.com
websites and the archives for this list but haven't really found any references
to rebuilding Mandrake totally from scratch using SRPMS. I started with taking

Okay, a look for the "I already done that".
Have doubled checked that the usb cable is fully connected to the
