i'm not aware of any package that insists on a particular u/gid for its use, linux will assign these automatically when creating users/groups, why not create a user - exim - and use the resulting u/gid, or use the ones for whatever user any exim documanetation might suggest since i don't know

Hi, Yes the uid are fixed in Mandrake, by what I am not sure.. for instance the ldap user is always 93.. I have finished the RPM of exim.. but did msec ever give me a problem.. as exim has to run with sticky bit set..also sticky bit had to be set on /var/spool/mail..Oh well the best trick
