I've gotten spamassassin working in client mode with kmail OK but it slows
down my email since spamassassin has to be started every time an email comes
in. Is there a way to use spamd with kmail if one is not using
postfix/sendmail/fetchmail locall

I'm using spam assassin with kmail. Basically, start the daemon with spamd -d
(you could add such a command to rc.local so that it will start after a
reboot). Then add 2 kmail filters (not POP filters). The first filter
criteria is used to prevent exceeding spam assassin's file size limit of

I just upgraded my spamassassin from the 9.1 version (2.44) to that in Cooker
(2.54). I then restarted spamassassin in daemon mode
("/etc/init.d/spamassassin restart") and it started right up. It doesn't
appear to work any longer however. Incoming emails no longer get the

I upgraded over the old version. I added a cooker site to my urpmi database
(for Cooker itself, not the contribs to cooker) and then did "urpmi
spamassassin". It found the newer version on Cooker and also needed to

mentioning POPFile. This is another Bayes method spam filter. I have it
running on two Mandrake machines at work, and it's averaging 98.8% on
one machine and about 97% correctness on the other. They are both

I recently noticed that some files in my /tmp directory disappear over time
and I don't remember deleting them. The odd thing is that the files
disappear, but the directories are left in place. I have tried to run
reiserfsck but with no luck, it doesn't show any proble

RedHat 9 using xircom_cb module.
