One thing about StarOffice that does not seem to be widely known:
It replaces your desktop with its own. You may find that's not

You need to understand a little history. When the QT libs were not
quite 100% open source (only about 99.8%) the folks at RedHat got up
on their high horse and said "Never!" And so they invented/commissioned

No, I know how to use a scope. What I need to do is
fix this particular one. Thanx for your reply.

Does anybody have an address, phone number, or URL
for the guys who show up at flea markets with copies
of manuals for older test equipment? I'm looking for
a service manual (or copy) for a Tektronix 2235 scope.
I know there must be a few hardware guys here who

I am aware that an announcement last June said that Linux
is supporting ata100 drives. Can anyone tell me if the
ata100 software is already in place in any distro, or
what version of the kernel supports it? (I just got
a new mobo with ata100 cpability, and of course I bought

Now you guys tell me that my shiny new ATA 100 drive (that I haven't
even installed yet) is not going to work in Linux. Does anybody know
whether a newer kernel is out that will recognize it? Or if there's
a patch, or something? I.e., is there a work-around that doesn't
require me to fiddle w

I'm not sure I understand your question. However, there is a program
caled Explore2fs that runs on WIndows 9x (not NT, I think) that will
let you _read_ or _copy_ files on the ext2fs from Windows, but of
course they won't _run_ under Windows. If the original poster

You have to do some homework. I just got thru looking at various
sales spots, and I figure that I can put together an Athlon 800MHz
machine with an Abit KA7-100 mobo, 128 MB PC133, and 15 GB IBM
ATA-100 hd, using presently available (that I have) monitor, sound
card, video card, mouse, CDR, and K
Of course, that's what I meant. Thanx for catching me!

I am thinking about buying an Athlon motherboard.
I would welcome comments (goor and bad) about the
ones out there. I would probably run 800MHz. I
would like to have at least one ide socket for my
sound card. Please advise if you have good/bad to
say about any particular boards.
