I am just now trying Mandrake 8.1. The install went well, no problems. Lilo is working
like a charm. When I select Linux from the menu, the little languages icon pops up,
then it says booting 2.78 at the bottom and just freezes. Can someone help me out

5.0. When I tried to partition 5gbs it gave me an error. It somehting along the lines

I made the mistake of not installing the developmental packages on my
install. I was now wanting to do some C, C++, and maybe some java
programming. What packages do I need to install to do this, and what do I
need to do to get an icon (gasp, doing something the "easy" way) for the
compiler? T
I accidently forgot to setup a dual boot with windows on my install. What
entries do I need to add to my lilo.conf to get it allow me to choose

I need to add the infamous append = "mem=128M" to my lilo.conf , but I
already have an append and when I add the extra append it tells me I have a
syntax error on line * and that I have an extra "append". What do I need to
do to add the extra append? Thnks for everyone's continuing support.

I added the line append="mem=128mb" to my lilo.conf and I ran the /sbin/lilo
, but Linux still doesn't see my 128 MB of RAM. Do I have to reboot before
it will see the RAM, or what? Someone please help.

I have a Canon BJC-240 printer and my distro has the driver, but Wordperfect
doesn't have it. Is there anything I can to do fix this? Where is the
printer driver located in Linux and can I put it in with the WP drivers? Any

I just installed Myth 2 with the small install and it isn't working

All right, I have instaled AIM and I can't run it because I don't have the
"/usr/java/bin/jre" and I can't run real player because I don't have the
libg- and libstdc++ . I found the lib's on rpm find but they wouldn't
download for some reason. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
