In profile, apart from editing the path you'll also need to edit the
'Mandrake security lines at various points. Once I have an /etc/profile
that suits me, I save it to floppy, and copy it each time an install is
necessary.

the 'Edit Menus' in the Panel section doesn't function either. Failing
that, kmenuedit is in /usr/bin, and is part of kdebase. From there you
can get it working: but NOT the one in the Panel sectiom.

Playmidi seems to work OK, but 'can' ignore short term tempo changes,
which are unfortunately necessary
