This is common with Netscape. It tries to associate *.rpm files with
RealPlayer, if you have that installed. If not, then Netscape tries to
handle the file itself by default. In Netscape, go to Edit | Preferences,

Well, d'oh! Please disregard my previous message, unless it can help you
with Netscape. I just now noticed that the problem you were having was with
konqueror. However, there is probably a similar solution for you, perhaps
applying globally to KDE's MIME types.
