I'm trying to install GnuCash on my 8.1 box. It won't go.
I'm getting a failed dependancy for Guppi.
So I try to install that. I get a dependancy on guile-devel.
A look around located gnome-guile-devel on the CD's, but no guile-devel.
A check of the system shows that gnome-guile-devel is

Recently installed mandrake version 1.5.0 of gnucash. everytime I try to use
help or online help the program instantly terminates, leaving the lock file.
Have tried this many times. I run gnucash from the kde desktop.

I am running Mandrake 7.1. I have Gnucash 1.4.1 running which I downloaded from
the Gnucash site. I have downloaded Gnucash 1.4.2 from the Cooker. When I
tried to install the rpm it complained about an unfufilled dependency of
G-Wrap. I downloaded and installed g-wrap and g-wrap
Has anyone gotten the new version of gnucash to install, or the source rpm to
build?
I get these errors:
[root@tolstoy spboulet]# rpm -i gnucash-1.4.1-1.i386.rpm
error: failed dependencies:
libguile.so.4 is needed by gnucash-1.4.1-1
libreadline.so.3 is needed by gnucash-1.4.1-1

Did as you suggested - works fine. Thanks also to the person who sent me
mhh... Forgot early versions of DirectX then? A higher version of DirectX always
got overwritten by a lower version, if you installed a game that shipped with a
lower version than the one curently installed on the system. And the fun part
was: it always asked you if you wanted to overwrite the
tboldtbefore you went to all of that trouble, did you try
cbb? It's already installed on your system if you didn't
deselect it durring installation.

(ln -s lib.so.new lib.so.old)
I don't know why packages check for particular numbers rather than
checking for "at least" this number, which would make a lot more sense.
