I have noticed a wierd problem with RPM on both my home and

rpm -q and rpm --rebuilddb as well as rpm -U, rpm -e etc.
rpm -qa and rpm --rebuilddb normally get part way

Hi all,
my rpm database is missing most of the packages I have installed..
it says many packages are not installed when they are...
I have ran rpm --rebuilddb many times and it still doesn't know whats going

I am going through the expert/upgrade now, having removed a great deal of
stuff
The last time I tried to install something with MandrakeUpdate, the new cups,
it downloaded, indicated that it was being installed and then my hard drive
'trashed' for about 5 minutes. No mouse or keyboard control. I had to press the
reset button to get it to stop. Now MandrakeUpdate show me that

Hi:
Can any one tell me the name and location of the rpm database, and how to
remove entries. I find after upgrading to Mandrake 7.1 I have several entries
pointing to multiple files/copies of the same file and cannot delete them. I
thank you in advance for your help.

I noticed something strange when I installed Mandrake on my
computer at home: The RPM database contained two versions of
almost all packages.
It was a clean install of Mandrake-5.3-2 (everything was repar-
titioned and formatted), with the RPMs from apps/kernel2.2 and
the kernel source for 2.2.1
