Just a detail, Rob, but the Oly E-1 has a weather-sealed magnesium body.
It's quite solid. I don't know if any of their other models have the
magnesium body, or if that feature is reserved for their pro line.

My only suggestion is that whatever you do, you should do it with Digital

trying to remove dust from the images (other than a couple blasts from your

I just wanted to say that I scanned a 4x5 color neg (Agfa) with my new 2450
flatbed, using the film scanning method in manual mode, making a ~100MB file
(48-bit depth). Brought it into PS Elements, which reduced it to 24-bit,
cropped it, and sent it to my new 2200 printer. No adjustments in PS.
Okay, this is a bit OT, but I went to Adobe website and cannot find the
info. Does anyone know if I can upgrade Elements 1 to Elements 2?
Elements 1 was packaged with my new (refurb) Epson 2450. I guess I'm going
to have Elements available as well as PS5LE, and see what works best for me.

One thing that puzzled me, not necessarily related to the above question--I
wouldn't know--is that when I installed Vuescan it asked me to select 1.8 o
