How much better is the SS4000 + compared to the 'old' 4000? On paper it's
a better bit depth, am I correct? The Firewire doesn't matter, are the
results noticeably better?
And, just for 35mm, will the SS120

Yes, it is better but depending on your use and requirements is it worth the
extra money? Silverfast has developed a multi-scan function for the 4000+
that I am told works well. Have not seen it myself.
I would imagine one could develop a test that showed the differences but I
am not sure

The French Chasseur d'Images magazine November issue reviews the Scan
Multi Pro. It gets a pretty good result, and is considered qualitatively
equal to or better than the 8000ED. And the software works. And the film
carriers are way, way better. They do comment on the speed for full res 6x9
? How's that?
I have Mac O.S. 9.04. How does the latest version of VueScan work with Mac
O.S. 9.04 and the 8000ED?

I have certainly noticed the green haze and am pleased--as I'm sure other
users will be--to see the profile adjustments. However, the Color Slide2
profile is not an overall improvement, in my opinion. If you can give back

my ftp site as before. This newer profile restores the saturation in the
shadow area. Mac users should put this in the IQA profiles folder.

I can't even find
usually works
well. In PhotoShop set the RGB level manually and individually and give it
some gamma and you are of and running.
