In most orchestral scores, even those which optimize out woodwinds and brass and percussion when they're not playing, tend to keep all the strings, even if one or more of the instruments has a lengthy rest. The only time I remember seeing anything different is when there is a lengthy solo pass

Well, the problem is that on his computer the stop button isn't allowing him to stop the loop, as he would like to do. On my computer (windows98se) using Fin2004, on the small test file I made to see if the infinite loop with no playback happened on my machine, the stop button worked fine. P

To install Finale 2002 in Classic, just run the installer. However, getting Midi to work in Classic is dicey. It is possible with certain interfaces and a bit of voodoo. If you can boot into OS9, you are better off using Finale there. ___ Finale mail
