Since there has recently been discussion about using USB MIDI
interfaces with OS X, I wanted to pass this along to the list, quoted
from a recently posted page about Panther compatibility on MOTU's
website.
"MOTU has also updated the MOTU USB MIDI driver to Version 1.2.1. This

I realize that this is an awfully small nit to pick, David, but the
fact is that alto recorder is SOMETIMES notated at written pitch,

Thank you -- I had noticed that Hidden attribute but when I have checked
that in other programs the text was actually hidden (i.e. invisible)
onscreen, so I hadn't checked into it in Fin2004.
Thank you for pointing it out to me -- I take back all my bad thoughts!

Working with a score modeled on the baroque "Concerto grosso" model.
In the ms., all instruments are in ordinary score order, falling
where they would in an ordinary "Orchestral score".
Nowever, should the "concertino" and "ripineo" groups be considered
separate ensembles, and ordered
Hi David:
Thanks for the prompt response.
Your suggestion and Harold Owen's suggestions did put
me on the right track. Many thanks!
One more question: How do I use PAN to set some instruments to the left /
right speakers
to be able to better differentiate between the instruments?

Apparently, applications themselves can choose their own MIDI resolution
settings (from ppq to pan), and Finale uses a 16-bit Controller
resolution. I'm not completely sure...
But *this* is really weird. I found that the MIDI Too
Brad,
Thanks for the info. I haven't got 2k4 yet, because I use it on mac.
I suppose that a program could support 16-bit resolution on any
controller, but I have never before heard of anyone implementing it for
pan data. Very interesting.

The Dover reprint of Corelli's concerti grosso have the concertino and
ripieno groups printed separately. It's a reprint of the 1891 Augener &
Company, London publication edited by Joseph Joachim and Freidrich
Chrysander.
As a conductor I prefer to see them in separate groups.
