Hello all,
I've reduced the problem I've been having to the following steps. Would any
of you mind confirming this bug for me? (I'm using Finale 2003a.r1 for Mac):
1) Create a new document without libraries and add one measure (2 measures
total)
2) Add a key signature change to Bb in the second m
Hi Hal,
Thanks for your reply. I ran a little test myself with a default file and
the problem didn't show up. The problem is actually in a bigger file that
was originally created in an earlier version (98) of Finale, but modified in
2003a.r1.
I tried copying and pasting all entries from the origi
Dear Finale List,
I am working on a project that involves a note tied over the barline at a
key change and system break. I am unable to get the end tie to show up on
the first note in the bar at the beginning of the new system (at the key
change). I have tried invoking the Frame Attributes dialog

Er, JOHN.
Thank you, JOHN!

If they are really familiar with the style it will certainly affect
their playing. Your anecdote about coaching young players in the
Mendelssohn trio demonstrates perfectly

Comments?
You're talking about two different things, David:
What MIDI device are you using for playback from Finale? If it's
anything other than the QuickTime MIDI Instruments, the change in the
file may just be a result of using a different set of synthesized
instruments.

Dear Andrew:
Are you using the MIDI tool for playback and/or the expressions? The
expressions add their values to the MIDI ones, and that can give you those
very faint notes.
IMV I only use one of the two methods and never both...
I will be happy to help you if you send me the file...

Cellists are extremely flexible about the tenor clef, so as long as
you have some kind of plausible reason to switch, you're OK. Nor need
you feel compelled to get out of the tenor clef as soon
I'm a FinWin2004 user, so I'm not sure my answer is applicable, but I'll
give it a stab and hope it helps. First off, General MIDI (GM) only
specifies the timbre (and rather loosely, at that), and does not specify
the relative volume of the various MIDI instruments. Thus, what may balance
