I placed them first as articulations, and STILL no holds in playback.
I get absolutely NO fermata playback, as articulations or as expressions.

I just double checked my file -- I made sure the fermatas are
articulations. I made sure the articulations are NOT defined for any
playback effect.

Just tried it again, and it seems the fermatas ARE playing back IF I
begin playback using the playback controls.
Silly me, I thought playback was playback, so I was using the old
spacebar-click playback method.
So NOW my question is, how can I get it to hold the fermatas longer?

I am following the OLD to define a shape for an expression Fermata
(apparently the only kind that plays back despite the articulation's
fermata settings for duration and choosing a percentage).
I can get to the shape creation screen and draw the shape just as they
say in the OLD. I click OK,

I think Human Playback currently only plays back plays back articulation
fermatas. (But OTOH, no need for shapes
