I just ran an experiment, assigning layer 1 to flute, layer 2 to oboe. I had the oboe play for 6 bars, panned left using an expression, setting controller 10 to 0. I had the flute enter at bar 3, panned full right using an expression. The oboe stayed full left when the flute entered and the f

I have found it very easy to set panning using expressions -- I create non-printing expressions and set playback for Pan and the appropriate value. That way I can see exactly where I have placed the expressions and can change them very easily. I find this much easier than using the midi tool,
