I have a problem creating 2nd endings on bars that have the first note tied
to the last note of the bar before the first ending. Using ctrl++ on the
keyboard I should be able to create a tie that goes backward but the most
of times this does not work and I have to create a tie manually.

Hey gang,
Here's what Gary Garritan wrote me regarding Kontakt 2, which is
supposedly better optimized for G4s and G5s:

There's also a section in there about customizing the setup wizard's
instrument list. Highly recommended if you consistently write for
instruments not in the list...

Many Finale users seem to be interested in Garrison Personal
Orchestra. The Mac version does not perform as well as one might
hope, at least for the time being. Here is another alternative to
consider. This is from two Namm press releases put out by MOTU.

This sounds right to me, as far as I can tell. When I have saved the
file, it saves with the wrong contents. If I change to Scroll View, or
redraw, or update, the proper contents seem to come back.
Weird.

In response to requests made on and off list, I converted the
archives to a members-only status.
The upshot is that you now need a password to access them. You
were sent a password when you signed up for the list. It will be
re-set and re-sent to you if you will go

I'm sorry to say that this cable, from Pacific Cable:

First off, it only seems to feed one display at a time. Second, image
quality on the VGA end is *horrible*, with an insane amount of ghosting

I couldn't agree more. There's no point to the archives if they're not

I just bought a little USB number keypad to replace my old ADB device.
Different from my old one, this new one doesn't have an =-key, instead
it has a , key. For Speedy entry the = is quite useful, and I am
wondering whether there is a way to remap keys on this keypad? If anyone
has an idea,

Well, this is good to know! Maybe because more than one person was
working on a server when this happened in my situation, the files
were being saved before anyone noticed what was going on. But this
is good to know. I will definitely try this next time if it happens
again and pass the info
I whole-heartedly agree with everything you said.
Thanks, Henry!

I dug up all my old Finale program disks -- all the way back to Finale

With all the problems that some people are having with Garritan Personal

Check out the demo sound files - they're pretty amazing, especially the
Beethoven String Quartet and the Rite of Spring excerpt.
I posted two messages asking hints (the last was sent today at 14:07 ET with
subject FinWin 2k3 - problem in 2nd ending creation)
I'm afraid these messages are not sent to the list, although I got my copy
in my mailbox.
Thanks for replies

Well, I don't want to put any pressure to the admin, but Mailman2 does
give you search API on the archive interface. It's not a built-in option
so you need Python. I
Dig out your old 68k based Mac, network it to your OX9 based machine. Read
the files on the 68k based machine and transfer the files via the network
to the new machine. Don't know once there in the OS9 machine if your
current version of Finale can open them but it's worth a try. That's my
