I met George at a famous Third Stream concert at Brandies in June of
1957 and worked with his sextet in New York and on tour in 1960 after
a couple of weeks of rehearsals at the Lenox School of Jazz. Who knew
then that those would turn out to have been the good old days. Sorry

font) for a trumpet solo transcription.
The first is a slight bend down. I don't want it to look like a fall

The second is a quick bend down and back up on

This happens all the time, and I could never figure out what is wrong. I have a

want the S (segno) and coda signs to appear only at the top instrument and top
piano staff, in the score, and in all parts. So I mark, in

Glad to hear that.
Also, for some reason I don't see [Finale] in the subject line.

Apply voicing rules to your linked parts. There's an excellent section
in the Finale documentation that covers how to do this in detail.

Dear Darcy
I think, after an amazing amount of fruitless searching, that I've
found the passage you're pointing me to. It comes under the heading,

There's an iPhone app (about $8) that has the real book chord changes
(no melodies), and it transposes them automatically. Just information
for any who might find this useful.

Strange: I don't know what's causing this. My S and Coda signs only
appear on the staves I've defined in the staff list. A handle shows
up on each staff, but only the handles on the chosen staves have a
sign attached to them.
