Well, I think the Stravinsky Octet for Winds (2nd mvt.) also does not belong on the list. The theme, anyhow, is based on the octatonic scale (jazz musicians' diminished scale and/or Messiaen's second mode of limited transpositions). Dies Irae may be in there somewhere, but I can't see it. Dalvin
