Has anyone been successful in importing a TIFF file score into Finale?
I wanted to import a very legible, clean, crisp, 32-bar melody into Finale
2014, which I am testing in anticipation of upgrading from Finale 2008.
This melody was originally a png file, which I converted into a PDF and then

I've had the same problem in FinWin08. Not only did Finale crash, but I was

I discovered, thanks to this thread, that what I was doing was all
wrong, since I'd been looking for writers who died 75 or more years
ago. I found the following article online (easy to read) and am

I've had this problem a lot. You can grab as many measures as you want, then
go to Mass Edit, Note Spacing, and choose whichever spacing you like. I've had
to do this so many times that I finally made a kind of "macro" using TG Tools'
menu shortcuts. That too will save you lots of headaches.
I suggest you add a measure to the front of your file first (not
necessary, but a kind of failsafe place holder), then make sure you are
copying the entire stack of measures you want to insert. If you copy
just some of the notes or some of the systems or don't grab entire
measures, you won't get a
I started learning Simple in Fin2006(Win) when someone on this list said it
was faster than Speedy. And it is -- if one only needs to enter a single voice
at a time. With left hand entering pitches on a Midi keyboard and right hand
choosing the note value, this is really faster than Speedy.

Ihave gotten several spam messages referencing Finale and pretending to be

name on any messages I post to the list. (Cleaning up a worm once was a very
frustrating, time-consuming experience.)

Hi, Derek.
Check your MIDI settings and make sure you are not playing Finale thru
native instruments (i.e., uncheck this line).
Check your Window/Instrument List and make sure that for every
independent instrument you want to hear there is a unique instrument

Hello.
Is there any way to get playback to use native instruments VST on some
channels and general MIDI on others? Choosing playback through native
instruments seems to eliminate the possibility of GM. Is there any way around
this?
Thanks for any advice.

Do any of you have advice on how to prevent GPO playback from being
garbled? The piece in question is a piano quintet, so four KS strings
plus one Steinway piano are loaded on channels 1-5. Some measures
sound like an old LP with many scratches.
It is possible that this is a memory problem.

Hello!
I would like to make a lot of rhythm changes to a score, such as

I'd like to be able to enter notes in 12/8, then select a range of

and create triplets manually?
Thanks for the help.
