Yes, EPS! I didn't try that, because it doesn't look well in Finale. But
you're right, it looks fine in the PDF after Compile PS Listing.
How do I get the EPS to look right in the Finale-file itself?
But on the other hand, while trying this Compile-method, I come across some
other things: like fo
no images (TIFF
nor WMF) appeared in the resulting PDF... Has anyone an idea how this can be
solved?
By the way, I'm working with Finale 2007.
Thanks for thinking with me,
and wishing you all the best for 2010,

This is what I know:

0 (=zero) you have to try it, I'm not sure anymore) Then the instrument name
appears on all pages!
At least, this is how I do it in Fin2005, but I do not remember this has
changed since 2003
that they were both from Letland.

Well yes, maybe I did not do it in that exact order; that could be the
solution...
But after seeing your attached picture, I realized that inserting a MM rest
as a staff expression has the advantage that it allowes me to nudge it a bit
to the left, so that I have enough space for the upbeat cue no
Thank you for all your trouble in helping me out!
First I tried out Hans's idea, but Finale could not understand that I wanted
to have a MM rest in one stave AND stille see the other stave (MM rest =
part, ergo: no other staves are to be seen) (Hans, what did I do wrong?)
Then David's suggestion wo

I hope I explained it clearly and I hope very much that one of you can help

Dear Finale-colleagues,
at this moment I have two questions:
1.) Is it possible to close a group barline only at the END of each system?
I've looked in the Help, and the only way I found was to insert a "false"
barline, which means I have to draw lines on all 180 pages (that makes. how

For me, using "3" in stead of C or Cut C works fine. But for Cut 3 I have to
add a small vertical line with measure expression (and make two different
definitions: one for the beginning of the section, another for those places
where a courtesy time signature is added at the end of the system.

Place both files (one on top of the other) in InDesign or whatever. I've
been doing this for years and it works great.
David, I'm sorry, but I do have the feeling there's something wrong with
your file. I tried a multi-key signature file as you described, and
everything worked fine.
Maybe you should try to import the music into a clean default file. Maybe
that helps?
Good luck, Minke

! A waste of time
So I was wondering if someone of you
has found a way (tool, program) to paste 2 PDFs on one page.
Thanks in advance,

I sometimes use Minion Condensed. It is OK for tight lyrics, but personally
I don't like the looks for further text use.
There is also a normal Minion.
But I don't know if this is a freeware font...
Good luck,

Can I say something too? I just joined this Finale mailing list and I'm
reading the discussions with interest.
As now about the ß: For my work on music by Buxtehude I studied the old
German handwriting, the Sütterlin Schrift. And in that writing I would
definitely say that the ß is a contraction,
