No, it still can't. The fingerings are unchanged. And the magnetic
layout doesn't really help with fingerings when trying to position
them in front of notes.

So here is the next one after a complaint by myself. I must admit I find
it unacceptable that a company openly admits that we pay for unfinished
software, and that the upgrade costs are for bug fixes. Imagine I bought

Well, what this statement says to me is that Finale is worth, maybe…
$10.
But then again, maybe less.

This is, of course, bullshit. The PDF problems exist with Acrobat
dating back version 7. The problem is with Finale 2009.

Cynical but true, and that is a shame; but why else does MM release
buggy versions of Finale?

To be honest Gary, I'm glad it's working for you, and that you feel
positive about it. Surely there are others. I'm not one of them; I
used to be, but they started losing me gradually but steadily about 8
years ago.
But judging from the comments I read here, and elsewhere, the dissent
When I try to make a PDF from Finale 2k9 Mac I only get an empty page. I
can print to a PS Laser printer without problems, but both using the
Acrobat Distiller printer driver, or the direct PDF option in the print
dialog gives me an empty page.
Has anyone come across this?

Reading on the Forums I find that this is actually a bug. And what a
bug. Does anyone have a fix for this, which allows me to use Distiller
without having to go through hoops?

Well. I certainly get the feeling that they actually fix things, whereas
it seems with MakeMusic each version of Finale introuces more bugs. The
worst ones seem to get fixed with the next payed
Finale does have a little window of time where if you buy an upgrade and
the next one comes out soon they will give it to you for the price of
postage. I had paid for 2008 not long before 2009 and I was able to get
them to give me 2009. It is worth a try.

Johannes,
Granted, I was being a tad flip on my previous post, but the intent

especially considering the customs fees imposed on you.
As you may know, I've used Finale since v1, starting in late 1989. I

Ok, so here is the official reply from MM:
Johannes,
Thank you for contacting MakeMusic technical support. You are correct
that this is an issue that we have identified as a compatibility issue
between Adobe Acrobat and Finale 2009. If you intend on using Finale
2009 we do have solutions
