The missing files problem is now sorted and, as I feared, was a Windows
problem not Finale and was something to do with permissions.
I tried to copy a non-Finale file to the folder I use for Finale files and
received an error message to say that I did
Isn't Windows fun?Crap like this drives me
crazy - it is *my* computer, how can I not have
permissions to do *anything* I want??? Have
micro$oft forgotten the idea of the 'personal computer'?

I don't know if it's the same as on a Mac, but on this platform you can have
users of different levels, so your kids don't accidentally delete system files,
etc., when they are doing their school work. Sometimes certain files need to be
protected, too, or even hidden so you don't mess them up
