Thanks to all for the advice. Worked like a charm!

Earlier versions of Finale may not have this plugin (I'm on 2004, which
doesn't), but I've been using Jari's JW Score System Divider plugin for
years and I'm very happy with it. Is the one that ships with Finale the
same?

Probably a simple question and I've looked through the online manual.
Under Plugins>Scoring and Arranging> run the Score System Dividers
plugin. Do this ONLY once the layout is completely done and nudged,
and they WILL appear on linked parts, so you may have to hide them
all except in the score, unless you have a separate file for linked
parts.

Yes, that is a great idea.
I was unaware of the convention of writing everything straight

Jonathan's is probably the easiest solution suggested. I've already
completed the chart I was working on (Cold Blood's Valdez in the Country).
In my score, I did indent the coda measure, and put the coda sign to the
left of it. All I had to do with my parts was drag the coda staff to the

I use them all the time. The prime use at least for me is for doubling
parts, which do occur often in the kind of music I edit. E

Also:
Never underestimate the benefit of having a foolproof roadmap. All
other things being equal, from a sightreading perspective it is far,
far preferable to have a part that reads straight through from
beginning to end than it is to have a part with jumpers (D.C., D.S.,
etc).

I guess the problem of music looking the same doesn't matter here in Los
Angeles. We are the sightreading capitol of the world :-)
