Hey Jeff,
I'm not sure if it's "typical" but this is the .xinitrc I had when I was on my
Linux box. I just transferred it over and didn't have any issues.

P.S. And, I haven't had any Fink issues with it.

X11 worked fine last night. Now whenever I double click on the X11
icon, nothing happens. The only thing I've done since last night was
install X11SDK to my system.
I use Panther on a G4 processor.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Jeff

How can i configure x11 to use a different window manager. I already
have installed Blackbox, FVWM2, ice, and Enlightment. But I cant get
any of them to launch when I start x11. I scoured over documentation
from all the window managers I installed. They never mention how to get
the managers to

Ok, I figured it out. What I had to do to get it to work (in a revised
order):
(0) Installed Fink binary packages for xemacs and ispell
(1) Changed the permissions of the /sw directory so that
my user account (or anyone in the admin group) could
write to it (needed for step 2 below).
I installed xemacs and ispell, but when I hit the spellcheck button in
xemacs, it says:
"Symbol's function definition is void: ispell-buffer"
There must be a simple fix to this, but it's just always worked on every

I recently installed fink on 10.3 for the first time, and I have been having a recurring problem when trying to install packages. I started with KDE, then moved to freeciv, and and ended up trying to install 3dpong as the simplest thing I could think of to install to try and eliminate variables.
Hello Fink Community.
As I have stated numerous times before, I think that Fink has a great
community. Unfortunately I would like to be much more involved into it,
than I am right now. This is partly because I am curious, on the the
other hand I simply want to get to know those better who enjoy us
It worked before, but doesn't now? I've had this problem, but it was
due to calling a nonexistent window manager in my .xinitrc file.
