Dear Sir or madame,
My fink install often fails with similar message as follows,

gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I. -I. -I. -I/sw/include -Wall -g -O2 -c
`test -f 'test1.c' || echo './'`test1.c
/bin/sh ./libtool --mode=link gcc -Wall -g -O2 -lintl -L
Forgive me if this is the sort of thing that comes up often. I couldn't
open the links to the list archives.
I had an older version of Fink installed. 0.5.2, I think. I updated
today and now when I run dselect it presents me with the main menu. I

Also, make sure you don't have both "system-xfree86" and
"xfree86-shlibs" installed simultaneously--"fink list -i xfree86"

I have recently upgraded my 2002 G4 Quicksilver 933 to OS X 10.3.2. I
installed the Apple X11 that comes with Panther, and I installed
XCode and the X11SDK. I previously had the Apple X11 beta. The Apple

Hi,
Do you have fileutils from fink installed? Or what gives 'which ln'? If
you get /sw/bin/ln, try to run 'sudo
/sw/var/lib/fink/prebound/update-package-prebinding.pl -f' and see if
that fixes the problem.

I get an identical error, so I'd bet that it's a bug in the perl580

If you're going to do anything with the binary distribution, you'll
need to modify /sw/etc/sources.list as well.
Try running /sw/lib/fink/postinstall.pl--it's supposed to do this for
you.

Thanks, I did what you said and it completed some installs and then I used
the other site to complete my upgrade process, at least I'm getting the
packages to compile right now. No errors yet!
