Having learnt that kile is now also part of the fink project, I can, nevertheless, not find it amongst the 3487 odd packages listed. Am I too early? Or what do I have to do in order to download kile?

There has been a kile package in Fink since 28 October 2002,
I ran scan packages and it showed two debs being obsolete. I manually
went in and deleted them, but I think clean would have done the trick
too. I ran clean afterwards and it deleted the symlinks. I am just
wondering if I screwed something up.

I'm trying to update KDE. I ran:
fink update-kde
and things seemed to go fine. I had several dependency choices to make, etc. After running update for many hours I came home to see:
dpkg-deb: building package `gnupg' in `/sw/fink/dists/stable/crypto/binary-darwin-powerpc/gnupg_1.2.2-1_darwin-powerp
What OS version do you have?
And do you have the unstable tree turned on?

You should be fine: I believe you can mix manual deletion and "fink
cleanup" freely.
