Thanks a tonne everyone and I am very sorry for having sent you on a wild
goose chase.
You were a 100% right it was a offending unlimit setting in /etc/csh.cshrc
I am entirely guilty of having put "unlimit stacksize" in /etc/csh.cshrc to
help all users of this machine use a crystallography program

I dont' think it is - I have just finished building that version of arb
successfully while getting all those lines too.
OTOH, if you don't have a specific reason to want this very old version
of arb, I w

Yes, Hari did already contact me, and I suggested to post the question to the
fink mailing list. Unfortunately at the moment I have very little time to
investigate. FWIW, it builds fine on my iMac G5/10.5.2 too (although not
recently testesd).

Did you contact the maintainer for the Fink package?
If you can build it by hand, then that does make it a good possibility that
the Fink package needs to be modified, and they're the one to do so

Hi,
I installed fink (the latest version, for leopard systems), and then I
installed the ghostscript package without any problem. Right now I am
trying to install ghostview and it fails! I tried twice, but it never
worked. Is it a well-known problem? Or am I doing something wrong maybe?
