I recently installed Fink but am having a problem with my installation. Fink cannot update my package database, so Update fails. Typing sudo apt-get update results in the following (long) error message:

File not found

I've heard much discussion that no binaries have been compiled to run
under Jaguar and that those of us running 10.2 must download and
compile source code. I'm a bit confused by this because I did an
archive and install from 10.1.5 to 10.2 and the old binaries run just
fine: Window Maker, GI
I ran Ben's script to fix Apple's X11 libraries. As directed, I ran it
as root. It appears to have fixed some libraries, but even though I
ran it as root, I got quite a few "permission denied" errors. Here's
a clip of the output the script generated:

I am now running Panther and have upgraded Fink per the instructions,
which indicate that Fink should automatically recognize that my machine
is running 10.3. However, my fink.conf file still lists my OS has
10.2:

discussion forum. Make sure you have installed the package
