Someone correct me if this a somewhat inelegant fix (it probably is) but
rm -rf'ing /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/100dpi/ and a fsck to make sure the
filesystem's ok would probably be the first thing to do in finding out
what's wrong? Or if the .deb file is hosed just nuke that and let fink
rebuild it
Hello,
While trying to upgrade the bundle-kde-ssl packages, I am running
into errors from dpkg. I ran:
sudo apt-get update

This downloaded a bunch od .deb files, but then barfed on the
installation. This is the error I get on processing xfree86-base

Hi,
I reinstalled XFree using xfree86-base and xfree86-rootless in order to be able
to run KDE. (The FAQ says the fink distribution of xfree is needed).
I have some problems though :
* there is no Xaw3d anymore. Is there another package to install ?
* there is a libXinerama.a but no libXinerama
Hi.
I have scigraphica installed and I'm experiencing the same problems

Hi.
I've had gwydion-dylan installed for a while and I've finally (at
long last) gotten a chance to start playing with it. One of the
first things I did was to search the /sw file tree for any demos,
example projects or documentation installed by the gwydion-dylan
packge. Aside from a few m

Does this this mean non-kde packages as well (gnome, gimp, xmms, abiword etc.)?

You need the new fink 0.4.0a installer, then all should work well.

The binary packages for Fink KDE have been updated. It should be much faster
now, thanks to a fixed bug in qt3. For a full list of what's changed, as well
as installation and upgrade instructions, see the updated instructions in the

Hello-
I am new to fink but not to nmap. When I try to install the package in
10.1.5 i get the following error:

I upgraded my KDE after the announcement earlier today. I ran apt-get
update and apt-get upgrade as per instructions on the web site. Now KDE
is refusing to start up. When executing startkde, here's what I get:
[localhost:~] aleks% startkde
dyld: ksplash can't open library: /usr/X11R6/lib/libXi
Fresh fink install with selfupdate-cvs, today... same version of fink.
I'm having the *exact* same problem, and took the exact same remedial
actions, no dice. I think it's something due to libpng but I'm still
digging. Let me know if you find a fix first ;)

D.
