There's also a discussion on Apple's .mac board (discussions.info.apple.com). Just FYI.

I've tried compiling with OpenMotif before. Seems to fix the split windows
problem and also the File:Open problem.
The one bug I've experienced is that when you have multiple windows open,
clicking the close window button crashes the whole program. A work-around is
to select Close from the File me
selfupdate-cvs and try again, should be fixed... had a typo in there.

If you run the Console utility (from /Applications/Utilities) it will
print out any error message (it prints out a log file, actually).

There seems to be some confusion about neon. It wants neon 18 and 23...
Any ideas?

I installed Apple's X11 and it works fine. I'm trying to alternatively
run KDE. I change .
Victor: I've uploaded a new revision of nedit to unstable cvs that uses
openmotif3 instead of lesstif - this appears to fix the crashing problem.
I've also removed the tabbed window patch, since it was causing occasional
crashes. Please try it and let me know if it works for you.

I'll put GNOME 2 packages into unstable tree in two or three days.

I notice something similar with fvwm2 running full screen with XDarwin,

I know this question has probably been asked before, but - if I install the X11 fonts in fink now, do they become available to my existing applications (eg GIMP, Scribus, OpenOffice, etc.)?

I'm using KDE 3.1 (mixture of 3.1-11 and 3.1-12) with the fink-supplied
XFree86 4.2.1.1-3 packages with no real trouble at all. I have not been
able to upgrade to the latest and greatest KDE packages because of the
conflict, discussed elsewhere here, between doxygen 1.2.18-5 and tetex;

Version 5 of doxygen builds very nicely now with the new (old) version

I can't find the format file `pdflatex.fmt'!
This doesn't look like it's a problem with doxygen.
