I hope this fix makes it in soon. Until then I found that installing

It is in, and should have made all mirrors by now, as long as you have
unstable enabled it
Thanks, Alexander - the main mirrors seem to work. When a download
failed, fink gives option what to do next:
(1) Give up
(2) Retry the same mirror
(3) Retry another mirror from your country
(4) Retry another mirror
(5) Retry using next mirror set sourceforge

There should be a bug report filed against pstoedit that it needs to
buildrequire imagemagick-dev, not just imagemagick.

The missing file is /usr/lib/gcc/darwin/3.1/crtbegin.o. Do you have the
gcc3.1.pkg installed? You need gcc-3.1 for compiling gv.

I have just succeeded; I had to to reinstall XCode 1.5 (Custom) to
enforce the upgrade of gcc3.1.pkg to install the crtbegin.o file that I
needed.

In such a case, you should contact the package maintainer (fink
describe pstoedit) and tell them this.

My personal experience has been fine - though of course fink installs
it's perl in /sw rather than replacing the Apple installed version.

Ok. Does this mean that the Perl560-core that I have installed is a
relic of my Jaguar days and that I can safely remove it?
Thanks.
