Hello,
this morning I upgraded my iMac to OS X 10.9.

I'm noticing that this is _not_, in fact, /usr/bin/gnutar.
If you'd be so kind, try editing /sw/lib/perl5/Fink/PkgVersion.pm as a

Somebody reported using a similar method (actually, they replaced the
real /sw/bin/tar with a symbolic link to /usr/bin/gnutar, but that
should be the same net result) and it worked for them.

That did not fix the problem. Every time I try to execute it (after su
- to become root) the tar command fails wherever it appears, however
using sudo to execute the command works. I prefer su - to sudo so if
there is an easy solution I would love to have it.

It appears to just sit there when it hits the tar command, it does not
die it just sits there and when I control C it, it reports the

Usually when I see a problem like this somebody has already posted something to
the list and I just patiently wait. This time I have not seen anything on the
list but it looks like a server issue and
not something at my end.

Hi Alexander,
I think about evaluating the mount points. Just calling /sbin/mount
already reveals all mountpoints having the noowners flag set. The
difficulty is now to find out if some parts of the tree have been moved
over to a partition with this flag set. One might have to walk the whole
tree

Alexander,
you were right. I missed the fact that a year ago, I moved only /sw/src
to another partition to save space. Hence I didn't think about the
possibility when browsing the FAQ. The funny thing is, that it used to

Hi!
since 3 days
fink selfupdate fails unexpectedly during tests.
System:

I have no clues where to look for the cause. It seems to have sth. to do
with chown, but the binary is still in place:

I reported this problem several months (and at least 3 System Updates)
ago, and it still persists. Are you guys ever going to fix the CVS
server, or is this only a problem for Mac PPC users, so you feel free
to ignore it because Mac abandoned PPC architecture?
