Didn't mean to imply that you can't feed them grain. It's just that
Strategy would be my preference. Less chance of digestive upset,
founder, tying up, etc. This would go for my fjord or my thoroughbred.
Thanks Steve: I just called our

Don't compare this with grain. Grain has mostly carbohydrate as the
energy source. Strategy uses fat with less carbohydrate. That is why
the lbs./body weight is higher. If I were to put one of the fjords in
heavy training I would prefer

Well I have done it I believe...totally spoiled my colt. Storm has now been
gelded for 3 weeks and tonight we undertook to lead him to see if he was any
quieter. He was so bullheaded at the vet clinic where he was gelded that

What brand of supplements (vitamins minerals) work best for Fjords. Our
grass hay in Florida is not nearly as nutritious as that up north and I
feel the need to feed a tiny amount of grain with supplemental vitamins.

Good Morning everyone: Since I am new to owning a Fjord how much
grain does one feed a yearling, two year old and so on. I was feeding 8

Hello again everyone: Well, I had my yearling colt gelded last week. I
took him to the vet lab to have it done and they likened his disposition to
that of a Brahma Bull. Apparently he was bullheaded and strong to handle.

Hello everyone from Sue in N.B., Canada. First, I wish to thank all who
offered advise on my nipping Fjord colt. I haven't had a chance to try out

Hello from Sue in N.B. Canada. Can anyone tell me if gelding will stop my
Fjord yearling stud colt from nipping. When he is being fed grain, he will
make a grab for you. Has never really bitten but threatens. We swat him,

Dear Catherine: I feel so bad for you. I am still mourning the loss of my
2 and 1/2 year old Fjord gelding Bergen Sinclair that crawled under his
fence last July and was struck by a tractor trailor, early one morning. We

Hello again: I was wondering, in most instances, who is responsible for
microchipping and registering a Fjord colt...the breeder or the owner . I
bought my colt when he was a few months old and now am told he was not
microchipped. The breeder

Hi again everyone. I thought I would share the latest antics of my
yearling Fjord colt. To start with, is it normal for them to be so smart?
This little guy undid his snap off his halter wrapped the chain around his
ankle and refastened

Hello everyone. I am unable to find Fiskars scissors locally and am
wondering if they are available in Canada. I used my fabric scissors on
Desert Storm the last time I clipped his mane and I sure would like a
pair of scissors that clip

Hi everyone: I own a yearling Fjord brown dun colt. He is presently at
the breeders getting some lessons in ground driving. Fjords are so
strong that the guy I bought him from prefers to break them a bit while
they are not so difficult
