Larry,
I installed A4A v.2.6 due to findings of Heino DJ5ER, a member of the German
user group, who claims to have shortened the latency close to the one
obtained with a Delta 44 card when using a Creative Life 24 usb sound box
together with A4A v. 2.6. His post can be found on the forum at:

Most of my local ham club have better computers than I do, and are
controlling their hardware radio's with them. Although I don't know that
this is the case all over the world, your software, as well as many other

Both main.c and winmain.c have many of the same routines.
Which one is the one used in the windows PowerSDR?
makefile compiles and links main, but not winmain.

main.c is for Linux, winmain.c is for windows.
The Makefile is for Linux and the DttSP.vcproj is the equivalent for VC
on windows.

These files were the proximate cause of our fork for development purposes.
winmain, as in windows main file, is the main program for the
constructor, destructor, threading control, etc. in the PowerSDR software.
main.c contains all of the same stuff. the normal c language main, and
none of

You have an elegant solution, but probably overkill
for this application. I also removed the metal around
the area of the fan to reduce resistance. Why did you
choose the values of 105 and 150?
The amp transistors only generate heat when they are
drawing current, so the fan running to
There is not currently a published updated version. I believe we have
an internal version that has one grammar correction over what is posted
on the web, but that's it. We will get the documentation on the SVN
server in time. We will be bringing the documentation up to date for

I have gone through and cleaned out the dozen or so files that are not
used in the windows code from the repository.
After further checking, I will update the list later today.

All,
Just wondering. Is it a good idea to expand the group to take in BSD and
Mac OSX potential users?

Apologies to the group. Eric2 is telling us to Document! This was a
private reply to
a question from Jim yesterday. I thought it might be of more general
interest as it
gives some detail on one of the more important design features of jsdr.

If Portaudio turns out to be the universal panacea it appears to be on
the way to becoming, we should certainly make every attempt to include
them. Both the java and Qt code will run on the Mac. I know from my
WSJT development experience the *BSD's will run the c, p-threads,
python stuff
With or without PortAudio, jack is advertised as running satisfactorily
on FreeBSD (on top of OSS) and OSX (on top of CoreAudio). It would be
nice to have this verified at some point, anyway.

All,
Yesterday Jim made some observations about errors and error trapping in
the update command processing in jsdr. This was coming sooner or later
but, being very lazy, I wasn't going to do anything about it until
somebody complained. If it ain't broke etc. However it *is* somewhat
broke so
It is accessible, but we have not written up how to get to it yet. We
are using TortoiseSVN, a windows shell for accessing SVN servers. We
will post a document for how to use TortoiseSVN to access our SVN server
for anonymous checkout (download) soon.

While one may wish the elegance of a variable speed fan, doing so will
likely adversely affect your tuning accuracy. I find that with the flex
supplied fan installed in a full unit sans xverter (i.e. PA, ATU full
board stack), the unit becomes extremely temp stable in 30 minutes with
Any though about using Pageant and Bugzilla?

Nothing major in the beginning but keep it in mind, if done in a
reasonable way the software would work after a re-compile on those platforms.

Everyone;
Please bear with me as this is my first submission to the reflector; I may
not know the protocol, but I sure would like some help.
A couple of weeks ago I bought the 1W version of the SDR/Delta44 and have
had a great time setting it up and using it. I'm getting to know it

Make sure that the Delta 44 sound card has the correct variable signal
levels. The later preview version have logic that sets this
automatically.
Check the seating of the I/Q input cable (from the radio to the
soundcard) If you are using the Hosa cables, sometimes the don't seat

Gentlemen;
Martin suggested that it might be an antenna problem.
Taking that suggestion to heart, I switched the antenna to my IC-735 and
just worked Canada QRP on 40 meters CW. SWR without a tuner was about
2.2:1. I then tuned up the SDR on the same frequency and heard nothing -
zip!.

Bugzilla is really unwieldy upon first glance (I peeked at it on Sat).
If it seems that way to me, chances are that it will scare off a good
number of our less-computer-savvy customers. I'm hoping for a more user
friendly way to communicate what is reported, what is confirmed, and who
is working
