Hi Alan, good for you trying to put older equipment back into service.
You *might* be able to get that PIII working with Linux, but certainly
not with the current crop of WindozeXP.
If you check on that PIII you will find that it has an incredibly SMALL
L1 and L2 Cache shared for processing bot

Is this with the tuner in or out on the SDR1000?

So, in this scenario, you have SDR1000 Internal PA,
nnect lead to sdr, swr 3.00+.
This is on a digital meter connected between both radios and the antenna.
Enlighten this cooked brain please.

Paul is correct. The more detailed information the better.
My question is do you have the internal antenna tuner in the SDR-1000?

I wouldn't have a clue since I am a beginner. But to get an answer I expect
you would have to diagram the setup and be specific about all the
components: antenna, feed line, swr meter make and model, complete software
and hardware sdr1000 configuration, etc.

A while back I tried PowerSDR 1.6.2 on my old 850MHz PIII notebook with
512MB RAM and an Extigy Sound device and ran it with the sample .WAV

getting an SDR-1000 or its successor, although I was warned that that

True, but the NVIS contacts out to 300 miles or so on 40 & 80M during the low
cycle have been very poor in my area. At times you would have to drop down to
160M to make the contact that would have been easily made on 80M or
I opened up my CQ magazine and there is an article by
our own Larry Loen WO0Z about his quest for 80M DX.
It is a good chronicle of how choosing the right
antenna and scouting out propagation can really pay
off. AND he didit (that's CW for did it) with his
SDR-1000.
By the way 160M 80M and 40M

GM,
I am using SVN 854, and the CW monitor tone is high. When I clicked
