As it turns out I have one surplus to my needs Furman IP-8 ISO-Patch,
line isolator patch panel. Thought I'd mention this as there were a few
guys looking for extra units.
Please contact me off list if interested. The IP-8's transformer offers
specs similar to the Jensen DM2-2.

Those high nickel and chrome transformers have excellent high and low
frequency response, but they are kind of pricey. I ordered some
transformers to do the same kind of thing, but it's hard to find a
reasonable size steel box, so far I have not been too successful at
finding an inexpensive one
Hello Flexers
What you guys are seeing is the carrier that is only being suppressed by
about 50dB out of the SDR-1000 modulator. When operating CW and you key
up you will see the carrier which is offset by the tone that you select
for your personal preference. In my case it is 600 Hz. What this me

The Jensen DM2-2XX Dual Line Output Isolator
has excellent specs, but $220 for two channels

A pair of Radio Shack Ground Loop Isolators

This question may seem strange as I have been using my 100watt SDR1000 for
about a year, but mainly on digital modes.
While checking aerlier today, I tried SSB and listened to the signal on another
rig, without speec and with the mike turned off, what appeared to be hum was

Hank,
I have used both HamPal and WinDRM with the SDR using VAC without any
problems. Also checkout the KB article <

focuses more on digital voice, it does explain various settings. WindDRM

Hank,
Most of the commonly used digital SSTV programs are available at this link:

I have used EasyPal, and it seems to be the preferred one on the air,
with the SDR-1K but I use a separate sound card to drive it. I have not
used VAC BUT if there is one that will wo
MMSSTV works fine with the SDR1k. But you have to set the windows default
soundcard to the VAC. Set it up just like MMTTY for rtty.

Has any one found a digital SSTV program that will run with VAC and the
SDR-1000? The analog software works very well, but I have not been able to
find any digital SSTV software that will run with VAC. Thanks for any help
you might be able to provide.

In response to my comments in another post, I have
gotten a couple of emails that seem to indicate the
perception out there is that it is somehow difficult
to set up a SDR-1000.
I have 2 SDR-1000's and I have all 3 sound cards, so I
have done a lot of "settin up". I also use one of my

I had a situation in my early SDR where the diode

managed to blow out the preamp from a strong RF field
in my multi transmitter station. My RX was deaf to

add the diodes. So check to see if the

You can either use VAC (preferred) or a second sound card to feed the
PSK program the AF I/O in HRD. It would be just like setting up MixW in
theory.
Look at the VAC setup in the Knowledge Base for more detail.

Bill,
The two inputs for the FA-66 can be operated as balanced or unbalanced
depending on the connector used. I assume you have a high impedance
mic, so you may want to create an unbalanced to balanced connector to
connect to the FA-66

Ned,
Assuming you have VAC setup and working with SDR-1000, start HRD, go
to the PSK31 screen and select SOUND CARD. You should see Virtual
Audio Cable 1 and Virtual Audio Cable 2. Select the opposite of what
you have setup in SDR-1000. In other words, if Virtual Cable 1 is
setup as Input i
I've got HRD working with the SDR-1000
using vcom ports. Do I also have to
use VAC (virtual audio cables) to get
PSK31 going? KB Q10101 leads to VCOM
info and HRD interfacing control,
but seems not to mention audio. Is
the audio interface somehow managed
from the HRD side?
Thanks,
