Card out of my pile of 'stuff'.
Consequently I now have a 'extra' com port: com 2
and
A Parallel port: LPT1
Which is better, the USB to parallel interface or the actual LPT1 cable?
And...how can I use the com port to better SDR?

Willi and Frank,
The DC Spark-Over Voltage of SA05-C-T52-A-301-M is specified 200V±20%
and typically the max. device voltage of the preamps is as low as
5-6V. A properly located microgap surge absorber may prevent big
disasters, but still for low voltage transients protective diodes will

Ahti and Frank,
Sorry, I did not mention that I installed the microgap absorber between
antenna input of the RFE board and said voltage transients protective diode
on the RFE board. I think nowadays new SDR1000 are already equipped with
these diodes while I had to add them according to ECO
in this incoming message.

I'm slowly making progress.
I am using a SIIG combo card to provide the LPT address of DCB8 onto the
parallel port.
My microHAM keyer sends cw to both the SDR and the Yaesu.
(not at the same time)
I have the ptt pins on the SDR enabled to apply PTT to my amp.
And I have the SDR CAT enabled.
So
and/or go to the frequency of the QSY
command.
In DXBase I have TS2000, Com 16, 4800, 8 no Parity and 1 stop bit.
