I think I found part and maybe most of the reason for my AGC issues. I
finally dug out my XG1 signal generator and did the level calibration. It
seems to affect more than just the S-meter levels. The overall sensitivity

What has been described is how I operate my SDR-1000 as well. I keep my
pre-amp on Med, use a Custom AGC setting, and adjust the RF Gain until the
band noise is minimal; typically 46 for 75M. This seems to work with most

I use two versions. I have a folder dedicated to the SDR-X code and one
for the PowerSDR trunk (1.9.0) If SDR-X doesn't work, then I drop back
to the 1..9.0 trunk in SVN
