Pete,
It is not a typo. This is a blanket warning since the information
contained in the FRS KB article might be construed as it is fully supported
by FRS, which it is not. These are Microsoft's fixes and they have not been
put into any service pack or made available from the standard Windows
It is amazing how poorly designed the plug n play part of mobo bios or
XP SP2 is for the power user. I had to literally move the 1394 card
around to find a PCI slot where the 1394 card had its own IRQ and was
not shared with my RAID (C drive, main hard disk) controller. While the

Please download SVN 1478 and see if you can transmit. It works on my
soundmax card. Between the threading performance upgrade and a
significant error in sound card port mapping, dual port sound cards
working before was a lucky happenstance. If it is not still working,

I've had a request to change the way the FlexRadios respond to a third-party
RTTY mode command. Right now, a Kenwood-style MD6; command will put either

building the code and stemmed from my RTTY experiences in a previous
This has serious drawbacks. The SSB processing system with alc,
leveler, TX EQ, etc. will all be left in line. They are automatically
handled correctly only in Dig modes.
What is it that people don't like?

Is the larger question, is DigiL really needed as a mode if all digi
modes are going to be USB?
If that is the case, I'd like to see DigiL morph into FSK if it isn't
too difficult to do. Seems like I remember Bob M. saying something
about its viability.

The SDR-1000 should continue to interpret FSK (MD6;) as DigiL.
The problem is that there's no Kenwood CAT-compatible way to set the
SDR-1000 to DigiU, which is needed for some digital modes. I suggest that
the SDR-1000 software simply be extended to interpret FSK-R (MD9;) as
DigiU.

It seems unlikely that RTTY will switch to upper-sideband anytime soon, not
counting the DX stations that use the upper sideband to better spread out
their pileups.

I understand now. I misread the initial message in my haste and thought
the move was to USB and not DigiU. Sounds okay to me.

I'm not sure I fully understand what is being proposed here and my comment
may not be relevant.
But, I want to make sure that whatever is changed does not have a negative
impact on other digital modes. At this time nothing seems broken to me , so
why fix it? (as I said, I may not fully
I wrote previously about a problem using digimodes - specifically using WSJT

On transmit, I had hiccups, to coin a phrase used by Jerry - it took the form
of brief drop-outs, lasting tens of milliseconds. I subsequently realised that

I don't run SSTV, but I never use LSB (digi) for anything. I always use
USB on all bands. What are the 40m SSTV frequencies and I'll see if I
can RX in USB mode?

I sent a request in the HRD forum to not automatically assume AFSK is USB.

You mean it's supposed to say usable and not unusable ???

I agree with Dave. Either leave it the way it is or provide a checkbox as an
option. RTTY is traditionally done in LSB worldwide. What's brought this up,
guess I missed something somewhere?

I am seeing a problem that appears to be specific to V1.10.2 -- But
before I report it as a bug, I'd like to rule-out that I'm doing
something wrong or that there's another cause. I wonder, also, if I'm
not seeing the same problem as David G4YTL.
When using PowerSDR V1.10.2 -- but not V1.8.0 --
