I can safely say with some certainty, that I am the High Scorer in Zip Code

This was a pure 'Run' contest, no S&P, just cqing on 40 and 20 rtty.
Actually, 'running' is easier than S&P.

Way to old for all nighters now a days.
Tim,
Thanks for your comments, but yes I will be naive, where do I find the settings
to adjust the asio settings ?.
One thing I note , on 1.10.2 I am getting what sounds like "motor-boating" in
the audio, a fast pusling, and the horizontal line,
the line by the way does not keep pace with the au

I think it must be repairable because version 1.6.2 of the code doesn't
have them... at least not the ones around 14.3 MHz on 20 meters. It does
seem to me that it's a pretty serious problem.

I don't use VAC, and go by the KB article for doing the cal. The setting
from months ago were phase:9.00 and gain:-18.70, I've been entering those
values after rebuilding databases thru the evolution of the software.

One problem I discovered when doing this is to make sure you do not
have VAC activated, otherwise no signal is transmitted and you have a
very hard time! I spent a day fooling myself on that one!

Hi Ray,
I believe that those are spurs generated by the DDS chip. They're most
prevalent at (or close to) frequencies in which the DDS oscillator can be
divided by an integer (e.g. 50 MHz (=200 MHz/4), 28.57 MHz (=200 MHz/7),
etc. (Note that the "Spur reduction" math will shift these frequencies
I have noticed this with the sdr1000 since I received it, july06 it is
like a strange "mixing" or something like that..
I figured it was normal...I have run across it on different bands
some screen captures of lower end of 6 meters.

I have for sale a Flexradio SDR-1000. This is the 100 watt unit, which I

Got you Tim,
but would you think it will be wise to have a sort of compensation
scheme as it would allow a 'reliable' waterfall for the full 96kHz
bandwith ?.
Personaly I do think that 192k for the FA66 for our premium application
(powersdr) is not a good choice but 96k is.

When using an external frequency reference I appreciate that the amplitude is
important, but is the waveform of any significance? That is, does it matter
whether it is pure sine, square or anything in between?
Thanks

Jean-marc,
The curving you are observing is normal for the FA-66. @ 192K in SPEC mode, it
is much more evident.

Same to me, reported a long time ago ... .
Guys who are using Powersdr & FA66(@96kHz) , don't you see a noise
floor drop (more than 5dB) on bottom and top end of the spectrum ? . The
spectrum looks like a curving with its max at the middle here.

What's interesting is that it is not present in ver 1.6.2

I have had the same effect using a FA66 soundcard. I got it to go away
somewhat by changing back to 11025 KHz IF (in the "Expert" DDS window)
from the new "standard" 9000 KHz, but the spurs seem to come back. All
buffers are at max size (older computer can't keep up). didn't have this

I just ran across a strange artifact that is present in both v1.10.1 & in

This sounds like the intermittent "popping" that I get during digital
mode transmit using V1.10.2 -- but NOT in V1.8.
I've reported it as a bug, and it seems to me that the only likely cause
is a defect/change in PowerSDR. It's bad enough that it's prevented me
from moving from V1.8...

You can hear what a Flex sounds like in the rtty contest.
I'm on 20 meters 'running' but bands are not so good yet.
It was interesting on 40 meters before sunrise.
Many signals were barely audible, but I still got correct print.
So the combo of Flex and MMTTY decoding (via Writelog) seems to be wo
