Craig,
In the FLEX-5000 Control Panel, what is the operating mode? Safe mode
1?
Also, what version of VAC are you using?

What is the current lead-time for the SDR-5000A? The only information on the

at $2499. Did it not change?

In my youth, back on the farm, I experimented with
long wires. I even tried using one of the strands
of a barbed-wire fence that was stapled to wooden
posts. That didn't work well for an antenna, but
we did use it to carry DC Teletype from the house
to the field-day site, using one strand and a
I fiddled around some more and found that they will all talk to each

1. Use the vCOM driver (included with HRD and activated from the Tools
menu) to establish a pair of ports as COM6 and COM16.
2. In PowerSDR (Setup - CAT Control) select COM6 as the port and

It's not all that hard, but it does take a little work. I have an SDR-1000

Elecraft transverters for 50, 144, 222, and 432, and 4 DEMI transverters for

Nothing like this exists in the current software/firmware. We'll keep this
in mind for a future enhancement though. It will go a long ways to help us
remember if you will fill out a feature request (assuming you haven't
already) on our support page.
We're pleased that you're enjoying the radio.
As I reported here earlier, I downloaded what was indicated on the Home

IIRC).
Having noticed among the bug reports mention of higher SVN numbers, I

I down loaded Firmware 0.1.1.0 and PowerSDR 1.10.3 and the transverter
port (XVTX/COM) now works a little. When inputting a 28 MHz signal at
-90 dbm it shows up on the screen as -100 dbm. I see more spurs with
SR on than with it off. I don't see any transmit power when I try to
transmit. What
Is VS2003 even available any more? The MS website says it's no
longer available for purchase, although it is supported for a while
to come (til 10/14/2008). Of course, there's lots of retailers with
it in stock, after a fashion, but heck, I could probably find a copy

I got an answer from Eric today.
The program checks to see if it can gain access to the CPU value and if it
doesn't the display is not made.
I will soon be putting XP over this, I just wanted some experience with the
rogue OS know as vista.
Thanks,

Alan,
The executable and zip file for PowerSDR 1.10.3 now on the web site have
been corrected and show the correct version and no longer display the alpha
warning. There is no functional difference between this new version and the
one you previously downloaded except for the cosmetic changes
Well, my take is the performance monitor/CPU usage is vital tool to gauge
performance issues since PowerSDR can be processor intensive more so than
memory dependent and if Vista (version ¿) negates this, would someone from
Flex categorically state that this tool will be lost for Vista(for now).

I'm running Power SDR on Vista and have the CPU monitor showing on
the SDR screen no problem. I think you have to run SDR as an
administrator to make it show up. It's been awhile and I made many
changes to
Vista, so I'm not entirely sure that was it, but I think so.
I need a memory upgrade so I
