I remember this being discussed but don't remember the solution. After
talking on SSB, the receiver went dead. Back ground noise, line drops to
bottom of the pan and equal spikes across. Checked different bands
including BC and no signals. Rebooted several times but no recovery. What

Yes, there is ALC logic. Do you have the leveler turned on? If so turn it off
and see if that makes a difference.

Is there ALC on the SDR-5000.
If I put the radio in SSB mode and select VOX, the first spike when
the radio switches to xmit severely overdrives my Alpha 87A amp,
causing it to fault and switch to standby. This happens even if I set
drive at one watt. I have filed a bug report, but perhaps I am

Not yet. We did get a report from Paul Shaffer of what it took to compile
in VS2005 though.

Just curious, but when was the last time you adjusted or even checked the PA
amp bias in any other radio? I've got quite a few solid state PA's here, and
unless it was something I built myself, checking the PA bias has never been
an issue. What am I missing here?

solution for CTCSS. I need to know how to tie it into PowerSDR.

FlexRadio Knowledge Base
Dear FLEX-5000 customers,
This is to update everyone regarding FLEX-5000 firmware. As reported
Thanksgiving week, there are intermittent TR switching issues in firmware
releases AFTER 1.1.0 on some but NOT all CPU/firmware combinations. We have
resolved all but one known TR error condition in 1.
You can tell the fiscal week it was assembled by the first four digits of
the serial number. The first two are the fiscal week and the second two are
the year. However, it will not tell you when the radio shipped.

John,
Let me state categorically that there are NO know problems with the
FLEX-5000 running 100W either barefoot or with an amplifier. We have
multiple hundred FLEX-5000s in the field now and with no indication of such
a problem with running 100W. We have many customers running full legal
limit
Gentlemen:
This is apparently a firmware/software issue for certain type computers. We
have identified the culprit and we're working on a solution which should be
implemented in new firmware and software, which we expect to release very
soon.
