I have at least 5 wall wart power supplies.
DVK,
Check out some of the sidebands on my blog pics on skimmer

Skimmer has a key click filter built in that you can turn on and off.
Microcenter still has the i7 920 for $199. I don't see it online, but
it's still in their sales flyer as an in-store only price. Bought one
about 2 mo.'s ago.

Unfortunately not, Jim!
For a while I thought it was the Linksys - powered it off and the problem
went away. However, when I replaced it with a different switch, the problem
returned, exactly the same symptoms. It turned out to be radiation from the
UTP. That particular switch is connected
Try adding a few more ferrite beads to the Firewire cable between the FLEX-5000
and the PC. I bet it is common mode noise.

Keying sidebands are very much affected by the rise time. On the Omni-VII, for
example, if set to 10 mSec the width at -70 dB is about 900 Hz, but if set for
3 mSec it is 1500 Hz. Who knows how fast the FT-1000 is, but likely much
faster than 3 mSec. 73, Rob, NC0B

Remember that time spent changing PowerSDR 1 is time taken away
from working on Deep Impact. That is the version that I am
eagerly awaiting.

I REALLY need help, guys.

The drop outs are related to the buffer size and transfer speed as follows:

I am using a i7 920 based system (8 mb cache) with my Flex-3000, PowerSDR

I'm thinking of buying a new computer to run my Flex-3000 with. I am
contemplating one with Windows 7 (64) bit operating system. Am I going to
have any issues with the software for my Flex-3000 by using Windows 7?
If so, I can get a new computer with Vista Home Premium which I am using now

it just worked out of the box. Apparently the firewire driver in the

Your 64-bit issues will be with third-party software and unsigned drivers that
you will probably want to use with your computer and not so much PowerSDR.
Note that PowerSDR is not going to be fully supported under Win7 until PowerSDR
2.0.0 comes out later this year.
Ah, but who is to say that the feature will be added to PowerSDR or to Deep
Impact? Or both?

The good news is that I (and I assume others) have had no difficulty running
PowerSDR and my Flex-3000 under Win7 64 bit. I agree that the problem may
be with the 3rd party apps and unsigned drivers, but I am very pleased so
far.

I am trying to figure out how much the computer power impacts the sample

I read the stuff in the owners manual, but it does not really go into the
computer speed much.

Tim,
Thanks for the into, its very helpful and interesting.
How do the operation modes come into the mix, real time, safe mode level
1,etc?
I have not had this much fun with radio stuff for a long time, I even went
out and got a large monitor that I hooked up to the laptop, psdr is stunning
Well after a little more than two weeks I received a nice UPS delivery tonight
and got my newly upgraded Flex 3000 back.
Too soon to tell a lot about if the trip back home was good for the radio, but
sure is nice to have it back in the shack. Can someone spare a sun spot or two?
Has anyone found a way to speed up the tuner in the Flex 3000, or anyone know
if there is any plan to implement memories or something to speed it up?
Not using my Flex 3000 for a few weeks, using a Kenwood TS480 instead, I got a
bit spoiled by fast tunes in the Kenwood.
Frank,
The I7 is quite a processor, but the symptoms that you laid out, says
that you do not have enough resources to PowerSDR or the FireWire card
to keep from getting drop outs. What is the Safe Mode that you are
running and are you keeping the buffer in the FW driver and in the Audio
Maybe the XP SP3 hotfix is not installed and it is not running at 400 Mb/s.
